Junior BI Analyst

We are on the lookout for a full-time Junior BI Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. The Junior BI Analyst’s purpose is to enhance the capability and efficiency of the business intelligence team. The successful candidate will contribute in delivering actionable insights to the business by improving data quality processes, as well as develop and enhance reporting and analytics that will support the strategic objectives of the business.
As a Junior BI Analyst your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards, including underlying data sets
- Contribute to monitoring, reviewing and investigating inaccuracies and misalignments across reports and dashboards
- Contribute to ensuring the timeous delivery of reporting updates, as well as of analytics and support requirements
- Assist senior analysts in driving data-driven decision-maker through delivering actionable insights
- Maintaining documentation on metrics and key performance indicators
- Design, develop, and maintain data workflows to contribute to enriching data available in the data warehouse and to improve data quality processes and workflow efficiency
- Contribute to the design, enhancement and documentation of the data architecture and infrastructure
- Assist senior developers in reviewing data quality validations and implementing alerting processes
- Translating data requirements into technical requirements
- Confidently present the outcome of analysis and recommendations to business stakeholders
- Assist business users with ad-hoc data requests and analysis
- Continuously partake in upskilling opportunities in the team to enhance BI developing and analytics ability
- Proactively develop coding skills in SQL and other languages
- Develop ability to work with BI related cloud technologies
- Stay current with BI industry trends and technologies
- Engage with senior analysts, developers and other departments to improve knowledge of the related industry and business operations
Requirements
Our ideal Junior BI Analyst will possess:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric)
- BA/BComm/BSc in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
- 0-1 Years experience as a Data/BI Analyst or in Data Quality Management
- Be based in Cape Town
- Knowledge and experience in SQL coding, Google Suite/Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn and develop technical ability
- Able to communicate and engage with business and external stakeholders
Not essential but advantageous:
- Previous experience with Data Integration Platforms, Tableau, Cloud Technologies.
