Description
At Rhino Africa, our highly skilled Finance Team is looking for an ambitious Financial Accountant to join them in providing daily support and management of accounting tasks. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you are a master multi-tasker with the ability to maintain financial records and provide financial information by preparing reports
As a Financial Accountant your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Processing and reconciling month-end journals
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
- Ensuring that the requirements of all statutory bodies are met, incl. VAT- PAYE, UIF and SDL submissions, Income Tax, Dividend withholding Tax and Companies Act
- Interrogating GL account discrepancies
- Preparing reconciliations at month-end
- Preparing bank reconciliations
- Assist with monthly/quarterly Management Accounts and ensure that deadlines are met
- Prepare audit packs and liaise with auditors regarding Annual Financial Statements
- Assisting in managing the financial day to day operations within the company
- Ensuring general and sundry compliance
- Keeping up to date with the latest rules and regulations of SARS and IFRS/ IFRS for SME’s, changes and implementation thereof
- Preparing forward cover requirements for foreign purchase contracts and ensuring that adequate cover is in place, and in line with the group forex policy
- Ad Hoc duties assigned by the line manager
Requirements
Our ideal (Financial Accountant) will possess:
- BCom Finance or any degree with financial accounting as a major
- Minimum of 2 years working experience within a finance department
- An above-average proficiency in IT software (Netsuite, Excel etc)
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills and a systematic, yet flexible style of working
- The ability to work independently and proactively with minimum supervision
- The resilience to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, meeting tight reporting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
Not essential but advantageous:
- Knowledge and experience in working on Netsuite
- Knowledge and experience in payroll processing
- Experience in Income Tax and Provisional tax
- Experience in people management
- Working knowledge of SARS efiling and easyfile
